More than 1,000 job seekers attended the job fair of Rivers casino in Schenectady on Saturday.
Rivers casino is hiring new staffs and recreational managers to its newly updated casino and for which more than a thousand applications have been submitted.
Many applicants arrived at the venue before hours of interviews began with their resume in hand. Lot of people piled in to Schenectady’s SEAT Center as Rivers Casino hosted its first hiring fair.
Danny Brockdorf, the vice president of marketing of the Rivers casino said that we are looking for folks who have good gaming experience, or even if they are looking to make a shift to their career or maybe they know gaming industry but never got a chance to work with it. We are looking for people who are really good for the spot, he said.
As mentioned earlier over 1,100 applications were expected. Many job applicants were happy to get this chance from Rivers casino.
One of them named Allison Gehrer said that I have been looking for the same and really wanted to opt casino gaming as a career and that’s why when I heard the news that hiring is currently going on at the Rivers casino then I had to jump on this”, I am very excited and looking forward to make it possible.
By the way Rivers casino says that it is looking to hire at least 1,200 working staffs before the coming spring. The working staff of which Rivers casino is looking to hire is from food and beverage, security, valet parking and table games.
Many of the applicants were college graduates, social workers, and past timers who wanted a career shift.
Margot Jones, another applicant from Menands said that you should never miss any opportunity. She is from product business but wanted to work in hospitality and like her many others were also intended to work within hospitality.
