Maryland casinos earned more than $97.1 million in September

Maryland casinos earned more than $97.1 million in SeptemberAccording to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, Maryland’s five casinos have generated more than $97.1 million as total revenue September 2016.

This is 10th consecutive month for Maryland casinos doing well at the ground, but it is dipped from $100.3 Million from August 2016.

Current revenue for all five casinos operating in Maryland is up by 11 percent than September 2015.

The best performance among all is for Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, which generated an amount of $26.9 million as total revenue, which is very impressive and is up by 21.6 percent than their previous year’s record i.e. from September 2015.

Erin Chamberlin, the general manager of Horseshoe Baltimore’s said that “we are very pleased with our September result”, and hope that it will continue to do well in upcoming months.

Another Casino of the state i.e. Maryland Live Casino have also done well in the month of September. They have generated $53.9 million in revenue, which up by 8.8 percent than 2015.


Rocky Gap Casino Resort saw an increase of 15 percent in their revenue compared to 2015, and it is $4.4 million in the month of September, while another casino of the state named Ocean Downs made $5.9 million as revenue. This is up by 3 percent than their last year’s record.

The only casino faced a decrease in its revenue is Hollywood Casino Perryville, a casino which was opened back in 2010 after lots of discussions. It generated $5.9 million, which is down by 4.6 percent than September 2015.

Meanwhile state’s sixth casino i.e. MGM National Harbor will be opened on December 8, 2016. Most of the state based casino revenue portion goes to betterment of education, small business programs and for other industries.

This is a clear indication that five casinos operating in Maryland are currently doing well after seeing a decrease in their revenue generation till November 2015. it has also crossed $100 Million mark many times.
